2.6" Bluetube "Smuggler's Revenge"

Postby DBMcCann » Sun Nov 22, 2015 10:29 pm

I had a set of 3" Darkstar fins. Same tabs as 2.6"/38mm :)

Cut and sanded the Bluetube even. Still needs a little work, but close enough for tonight.

I dislike cutting slots. So between that and the blizzard I was a bit stalled on this build. Went down tonight to sand the CR's to fit, and got on a roll. These are still a bit rough, but a little file work will clean them up nicely after I epoxy in the MMT.

Cleaned and sanded the fins with 60 grit.

Sanded out the slots to fit, and filled the slot with aeropoxy, the buttered the fin root.

and now we wait...

Slowly getting there. Major construction is done, fillets etc. Tacked in, injected, and externals all in Aeropoxy ES6209. Just really the sled and some rivets in the payload left to do. And my favorite...paint.

Looks great, excellent external fin fillets. You may induce me to buy the current "special" 2.6 available with a 54mm motor mount.
Thanks for uploading those pics.

Fred
